Operation and Maintenance of Counterflow Closed-Circuit Cooling Towers
When a closed-circuit cooling tower is in operation, like any other piece of equipment, it requires timely maintenance and upkeep to ensure proper functioning. 1. Electrical System: All motors installed on the counterflow closed‑circuit cooling tower should undergo regular inspection and maintenance, focusing on checking the junction boxes, cables, operating noise, housing temperature, bearings, and current levels. 2. Control Cabinet: Inside the cabinet, regularly inspect for dust accumulation, metal filings, and foreign debris around switches and buttons; verify that wiring connections are secure and free from looseness or disconnection. Additionally, check whether the temperature controller of the Oasis Bingfeng closed‑circuit cooling tower has been exposed to water, and confirm that the contactors operate smoothly and open reliably. 3. Spray Water Tank: Ensure that the internal spray water is cleaned and replaced weekly to prevent prolonged use without replacement. Since the spray water is a consumable resource, H₂O continuously evaporates while dissolved ions remain trapped inside, causing their concentration to steadily rise. When this concentration exceeds the saturation point, crystallization may occur.
Classification of Closed-Circuit Cooling Towers
Based on the relative orientation of water flow and airflow, closed cooling towers can be classified as: counterflow closed cooling towers, crossflow closed cooling towers, and mixed-flow closed cooling towers. According to the material of the tower shell, they can be categorized as: galvanized steel plate closed cooling towers, aluminum‑zinc coated plate closed cooling towers, stainless steel closed cooling towers, FRP (fiberglass reinforced plastic) closed cooling towers, and others. Depending on the heat exchanger material, they are further divided into: copper‑tube closed cooling towers, stainless steel tube closed cooling towers, carbon steel tube closed cooling towers, titanium tube closed cooling towers, aluminum tube closed cooling towers, and more. By fan type, closed cooling towers can be classified as: induced‑draft closed cooling towers and forced‑draft closed cooling towers.
The cooling effect of the cooling tower is poor, which may be caused by the following reasons?
A cooling tower is an industrial cooling device primarily used for cooling and temperature reduction in industrial production. If your cooling tower is not cooling effectively, it may be due to one of the following reasons.
Potential Issues Encountered During the Use of Composite Flow Cooling Towers
An important feature of the working principle of the hybrid flow (also known as mixed flow) closed cooling tower is to maximize the suppression of scale formation on the outer wall of the coil. What issues need to be noted when the hybrid flow closed cooling tower is paused or undergoing maintenance?
Why does the spray water temperature of a closed cooling tower increase?
The closed cooling tower itself uses a large volume of circulating spray water to absorb the heat transferred from the surface of the condenser. During the actual operation of the closed cooling tower, the high-temperature medium continuously passes through the condenser copper tubes. In other words, it can transfer heat to the external spray water through the copper tubes. The spray water adheres to the surface of the copper tubes, absorbs heat, evaporates, and thus completes the cooling process.
