Why does the spray water temperature of a closed cooling tower increase?

The closed cooling tower itself uses a large volume of circulating spray water to absorb the heat transferred from the surface of the condenser. During the actual operation of the closed cooling tower, the high-temperature medium continuously passes through the condenser copper tubes. In other words, it can transfer heat to the external spray water through the copper tubes. The spray water adheres to the surface of the copper tubes, absorbs heat, evaporates, and thus completes the cooling process.

The closed cooling tower itself uses a large volume of spray recirculation water to absorb the heat transferred from the surface of the condenser. During the actual operation of the closed cooling tower, the high-temperature medium continuously passes through the condenser copper tubes, which allows it to transfer heat to the external spray water via the copper tubes. The spray water adheres to the surface of the copper tubes, absorbs heat, evaporates, and thus completes the cooling process.

Why does the temperature of the spray water in a closed cooling tower increase?

After absorbing heat, the cooling spray water in the closed cooling tower inevitably evaporates, changing from liquid to gas. The temperature of the vaporized water becomes particularly high, although under normal ambient air conditions, it is generally not easily affected.

The main reason why the cooling circulating water in a closed cooling tower does not become hot.

Because the fan at the top quickly removes the warm and humid air, when passing through the water collector, moisture is intercepted and the hot air is expelled. The discharged hot air enters fresh ambient air from the bottom of the cooling tower, which also prevents the temperature of the entire spray water from rising.

Under what conditions does the temperature of the spray water in a closed cooling tower increase?

The key reason is insufficient exhaust air volume from the cooling tower, which means the hot air cannot be expelled in a timely manner. This causes hot water to recirculate and transfer heat to the cold water, resulting in an increase in the spray water temperature.

As mentioned above, after long-term operation, the closed cooling tower continuously absorbs heat from the condenser, which inevitably causes the temperature of the spray recirculation water to gradually rise. Ultimately, it cannot achieve the purpose of water cooling. Moreover, the rise in the temperature of the condensate water in the closed cooling tower has a significant impact on the refrigeration performance of the entire equipment.
