Closed-circuit cooling tower heat exchange system
A closed-circuit cooling tower is essentially a tubular heat exchanger housed within the tower itself. It operates by circulating air through the system, enabling heat exchange between the temporary water flowing inside and outside the tubes and the circulating fluid within the tubes, thereby achieving a certain cooling effect. Thanks to the internal circulation of the water in the tubing, not only is water quality protected from contamination, but clogging is also prevented, ensuring effective cooling. This type of cooling tower is widely used in fields such as air compressors and industrial water-cooling systems generated by aluminum profile processing, and it is also extensively employed in air-conditioning cooling and various refrigeration industries. However, the closed-circuit cooling tower is one of three common types of cooling towers, each with its own distinct characteristics.

This type of cooling tower is widely used in fields such as air compressors and industrial water-cooling systems generated by aluminum profile processing, and it is also extensively employed in air-conditioning cooling and various refrigeration industries. However, the closed-circuit cooling tower is just one of three common types of cooling towers, each with its own distinct characteristics.

1. Long service life
However, due to their short service life, these tubes are used relatively infrequently. Copper pipes and certain stainless steel pipes are more commonly encountered. Given the significant material differences among these three types of coils, many companies, when selecting closed-circuit cooling towers, find that as some process fluids flow through the pipes, air tends to remain trapped outside. Of course, these two types of cooling towers—though they come into contact with each other—are essentially a modified or evolved form of the traditional cooling tower. When the circulating water pump in the reservoir draws water, it can be delivered to the spray nozzles for misting. In particular during winter, when closed-circuit cooling towers operate under highly sealed conditions, there is no need to run them continuously. During shutdown, the system can perform internal recirculation of the water or discharge some accumulated water. Typically, during the internal recirculation process, a relatively high-pressure compression is employed first, followed by the evacuation of any remaining air.

2. Antifreeze treatment
Therefore, in the process of heat exchangers, exhaust ventilation is generally not used for antifreeze treatment. By preventing direct contact between the circulating fluid—whether hot water or refrigerant—and outdoor air, the system can become a closed cooling tower. Moreover, spraying water can further enhance the efficiency of heat and mass transfer. Of course, this type of cooling tower is particularly suitable for cooling systems with stringent requirements on circulating water quality and is widely used in industries such as power generation, chemical engineering, and food processing, holding considerable application potential. On the other hand, compared to conventional heating and ventilation systems, this cooling tower leverages the evaporation potential of the water inside the tubes, which can be significantly enhanced and offers distinct advantages. Its key benefit lies in its ability to boost production efficiency.
