What should you keep in mind when choosing a counterflow cooling tower?
A counterflow cooling tower is a device used to cool water. In this type of tower, water flows vertically downward inside the structure, while the airflow moves in the opposite direction to the water flow. As the water passes through, it exchanges both heat and mass with the surrounding air, thereby reducing the water temperature. So, how do you choose the right counterflow cooling tower? What factors should you consider?

What factors should you consider?
1. If the design conditions differ significantly from the standard operating conditions specified for the cooling tower, adjustments or modifications should be made based on actual circumstances.
2. The cooling tower should feature high cooling efficiency, low energy consumption, minimal noise, lightweight design, compact size, long service life, easy installation and maintenance, and reduced water drift.
3. The design circulating water volume should not exceed the rated capacity of the finished cooling tower. If the circulating water volume falls below 80% of the rated capacity, the selected cooling tower's water distribution system should be re-evaluated.
4. The cooling tower should be positioned at a certain distance from the building and avoided near heat sources, exhaust vents, and flue gas outlets. If these requirements cannot be met, appropriate technical measures must be implemented.
5. The number of cooling towers should ideally match the number of air conditioning chillers.
6. When selecting a prefabricated cooling tower, attention should be paid to the coordination and compatibility of electrical controls.
7. It is recommended to install roof-mounted fire hydrants and flushing facilities near the cooling tower, intended for firefighting as well as cleaning the water-fill media and removing sediment buildup inside the tower structure.
