These three components will affect the service life of the cooling tower.

An aluminum-alloy, wide-blade fan has been selected for the cooling tower’s exhaust system. The cooling tower fan features aluminum-alloy blades, while the connecting crossbeam is fabricated from high-quality carbon steel plate, offering the advantages of light weight, smooth operation, and low noise. Prior to shipment, the cooling tower fan undergoes a balancing test at the manufacturing facility, with balance weights precisely positioned on each blade. During installation, users must not remove these factory-installed balancing plates. The fan pitch of the cooling tower is fixed; however, it can be adjusted at the factory to meet specific airflow requirements. In normal operation and installation, the blade pitch should generally not be altered arbitrarily, as such adjustments may lead to fan vibration and excessive noise.

Fans not only affect the service life of cooling towers but also impact cooling efficiency.

II. Water Pipes

Cooling tower inlets and outlets are typically made of plastic piping and connected to the water distribution manifold via threaded fittings; the connection angle is secured by a locknut. Water is sprayed from the distribution nozzles at a 38-degree angle in a packed-bed configuration, and the resulting hydraulic force causes the water distributor to rotate. It should be noted that for cooling towers with inlet water temperatures exceeding 60°C, although PVC or ABS distribution pipes may perform adequately in the short term, they will inevitably warp and deform over prolonged operation.

To ensure the service life of cooling towers, high-quality water distribution pipes are used in conjunction with rotary water distributors. The distributor can be manufactured from ABS engineering plastic, aluminum alloy, or copper alloy. Products made from these materials can achieve a service life of up to 10 years, and the rotating components require no lubrication. For high-temperature cooling towers, it is recommended that customers use stainless steel water distribution pipes and aluminum-alloy or copper rotors; copper rotors can further extend the cooling tower’s service life. In addition, components such as stainless steel screws can also affect the cooling tower’s service life.

III. Component Housing

The BF series cooling towers exhibit exceptional corrosion resistance, making them suitable for long-term operation in environments exposed to acidic mist. They are constructed using high-quality aluminum-zinc coated steel and 304-grade stainless steel. Following meticulous assembly, the units achieve precise dimensions and a sleek, elegant appearance, further enhancing material durability and ensuring the outer casing remains corrosion-free. All connections between the shell and the panels are secured with stainless steel bolts, providing extended service life and facilitating easy disassembly—thereby significantly prolonging the overall lifespan of the cooling tower.
