Spray water temperature

Closed-loop cooling towers use a large amount of circulating spray water to absorb the heat transferred from the condenser surface. During operation, high-temperature media continuously flows through the condenser copper tubes. The heat is transferred to the external spray water via the copper tubes. The spray water, adhering to the surface of the tubes, absorbs the heat and evaporates, completing the cooling process. The cooling spray water in the closed-loop cooling tower absorbs heat and evaporates, changing from a liquid to a gaseous state. The temperature of the water vaporized in this process becomes very high and is not easily affected by normal ambient air.

Closed-circuit cooling towers use a large amount of circulating spray water to absorb the heat transferred from the condenser surface. During operation, the high-temperature medium continuously passes through the condenser copper tubes. The heat is transferred to the external spray water via the copper tubes. The spray water, adhering to the surface of the tubes, absorbs the heat and evaporates, achieving cooling. The cooling spray water in the closed-circuit cooling tower will evaporate after absorbing heat, changing from a liquid to a gaseous state. The temperature of the water vaporized in this process becomes very high, and is not easily affected under normal ambient temperature conditions.

The primary reason the cooling circulating water in a closed-circuit cooling tower does not overheat is that the fan at the top quickly removes the humid hot air. The water is intercepted by the water separator, and the hot air is expelled. The expelled hot air enters fresh ambient air from the bottom of the cooling tower, preventing the temperature of the entire spray water from rising.

Under what circumstances will the temperature of the spray water in a closed-circuit cooling tower rise? One reason is insufficient exhaust volume from the cooling tower, causing hot water reflux and temperature transfer with cold water, leading to a rise in spray water temperature.

After prolonged operation and continuous absorption of heat from the condenser, the temperature of the circulating spray water in a closed-circuit cooling tower will gradually increase, potentially failing to achieve the desired water cooling effect.
