How is the energy consumption of a closed cooling tower fan calculated?
As the economy develops and society advances, the issue of energy shortages is becoming increasingly severe. Closed cooling towers are widely used in industrial water systems and also represent a key area of energy consumption.
As the economy develops and society advances, the issue of energy shortages is becoming increasingly severe. Closed cooling towers are widely used in industrial water systems and also represent a key area of energy consumption.
Cooling towers are critical equipment for cooling water circulation and also represent a significant component of energy consumption in the circulating water system.
Under the overarching environmental demand for energy conservation and emission reduction, it is urgently necessary for cooling towers themselves to achieve energy savings!

Calculation method
——————————————————

The cooling tower fan's speed and power are unrelated—this speed simply reflects the motor's typical slip rate S, which is usually small enough to be negligible.
To measure the cooling tower fan speed, first determine whether the fan is directly connected to the motor. If there’s no gearbox involved, the speed can be calculated using the formula: n = 60f/p, where f is the AC power frequency (50 Hz), and p represents the number of pole pairs, based on the motor’s voltage rating.
If the motor operates on household electricity (220V), then P equals 2; however, if it runs on industrial power (380V), P becomes 4. You can simply plug these values into the formula to calculate the result.
