Introducing the working process of a circular open cooling tower

The hot water autonomous machine room uses a water pump to pressurize the circulating water through pipes, horizontal throats, curved throats, and central throats into the cooling tower's water distribution system. The water is evenly sprayed onto the packing through small holes on the distribution pipes.

Dry air with low wet-bulb temperature enters the tower through the bottom air inlet grid under the action of the fan. When the hot water flows over the surface of the packing, it forms a water film and exchanges heat with the air. The high humidity and high wet-bulb temperature hot air is drawn out from the top, while the cooled water drips into the bottom basin and flows back to the main machine through the outlet pipe.

Generally, the air entering the tower is dry air with a low wet-bulb temperature. There is a significant difference in the concentration of water molecules and kinetic pressure between the water and the air. When the fan operates, under the effect of static pressure inside the tower, water molecules continuously evaporate into the air, becoming water vapor molecules. The average kinetic energy of the remaining water molecules gradually decreases, causing the temperature of the circulating water to slowly drop.
